Valuation Actuarial Support Analyst

- Support in evaluating insurance technical liabilities on a quarterly basis for management and regulatory reporting as well as formal submission of actuarial investigation report and actuarial-focused returns for financial year-ends. This includes but not limited to performing data validation, compiling & categorizing data, conducting analyses & experience investigations and verifying factors and assumptions used in computations to ensure robust output.
- Participate in the evaluation, review and make recommendations on improvements of reserving processes (including automations) and standards that are consistent with internal Zurich actuarial policies and guidance and, where relevant, compliant with Group, Regional, and Local regulatory policies.
- Support in loss ratio planning and forecasting.
- Contribute to performance monitoring meetings in understanding of results, providing insights on trends & developments and communicate key uncertainties & issues.
- Support in assessing the company's financial condition (i.e. solvency assessment, annual ORSA & IWST process), and under such economic & business conditions as regulator may specify.
- Proactively identify professional development and inculcate a sense of team spirit, teamwork and inter-team collaboration.
- Support Finance, Underwriting, Pricing, Claims, Risk and other functions on reserving, business initiative & projects and strategic business decisions as relevant.
- A bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field is usually required.
- Professional qualifications such as the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) or Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) can also be beneficial in advancing your career as a Valuation Actuarial Support Analyst.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as proficiency in statistical analysis software such as Excel including VBA, RStudio and Power BI.
- Good communication skills are important to explain complex actuarial concepts to non-actuarial stakeholders.
- Previous work experience in an actuarial role is highly desirable
