[What the role is] Manager / Senior Manager (Special Educational Needs Support)[What you will be working on]
  • Oversee and provide overall leadership, planning and supervision for the Special Educational Needs (SEN) support services function.
  • Lead the implementation of evidence-based inclusive pedagogies and Positive Behavioural Interventions and Supports (PBIS) at the organisational level.
  • Develop and review support resources for Course Chairs/ academic staff on care and support to students with SEN.
  • Collaborate with members of the campus community to proactively create usable, equitable, and inclusive learning environments.
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders such as MOE Schools, IHLs, employers/ work supervisors and disability communities on SEN advocacy and enhance inclusive training, internship and employment for students with SEN.
  • Coach, mentor and develop SEN Support Officers and provide guidance in case management, intervention and skills training for students with SEN from enrolment to post-graduation.
  • Manage division budget and oversee SEN fund applications, and procurement of Assistive Technology (AT) devices and services for students with SEN.
  • Maintain SEN data and records to identify risks, trends and areas for improvement in SEN support office operations and service delivery.
  • Provide management reports on SEN trends and concerns in Temasek Polytechnic.
  • Provide guidance to Staff Advisors on Student Interest Group for SEN Advocacy.
  • Implement institutional processes on internship support and school-to-work transition.
  • Conduct research to develop evidence-based proposals, recommendations and standards for benchmarking in SEN support services and policy development in higher education.
  • Implement institution-wide professional development frameworks for SEN Support Officers.
  • Assist in the implementation of SEN-related digitalisation initiatives and online systems.
[What we are looking for]
  • Relevant qualification in Inclusive and Special Education, Education, Psychology, Applied or Educational Psychology and/or relevant areas preferred.
  • Possess at least 5 years of experience supporting students with SEN, preferably in an educational or social service sector setting with a passion and disposition for SEN.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise team preferred.
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) and administrative skills.
  • Resourceful and good critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse background, and collaboration with different stakeholders in student support.
  • Proficiency in AT assessment for learning preferred.
