Job DescriptionAs a Student Care Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a meaningful and dynamic environment that supports the growth and development of primary school children. This internship is ideal for individuals who are passionate about youth work, education, or social services, and who wish to contribute to the community while developing practical skills in classroom management, lesson facilitation, and student engagement.You will work alongside experienced Student Care Mentors and contribute to a nurturing, values-based learning environment that emphasises character building, social responsibility, and personal growth.Locations: Island wide, centres located all across SingaporeWhat You'll do:Assist in preparing and setting up classroom activities to create an engaging and safe learning spaceSupport day-to-day lesson facilitation and guide students in their daily assignments and enrichment activitiesSupervise students during indoor/outdoor activities, field trips, and group projectsHelp maintain classroom discipline and encourage positive behaviour among studentsFoster a joyful and inclusive environment through games, storytelling, music, and creative learningObserve and report on children’s progress, participation, and emotional well-beingPromote good hygiene habits and personal responsibility among childrenAssist with administrative tasks such as attendance taking and preparation of learning materialsUphold YMCA's values and contribute to a safe, respectful, and caring environmentParticipate in team briefings and contribute ideas for improving programme deliveryWhat You'll Gain:Gain exposure to student care operations and educational programme planningBuild interpersonal and communication skills through interaction with children and familiesLearn to manage classroom dynamics and facilitate group learningUnderstand the role of socio-emotional development in early educationExperience working in a mission-driven non-profit organisation with a strong social impactWhat We’re Looking For:Students pursuing studies in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related disciplinesEnthusiastic about working with children (primary school age)Responsible, caring, patient, and eager to learnAble to communicate effectively and work well in a teamPrior experience in student care or tutoring is advantageous but not requiredApplication InstructionsPlease apply for this position by submitting your text CV using InternSG.
