Marine Operations, Specialist

• Efficiently oversee and monitor day-to-day on-water activities, serving as the primary point of contact for operational issues.
• Strategically plan, oversee, and optimize the operational performance of vessels.
• Interpret charter agreements for shipments across various trade routes.
• Develop and disseminate voyage instructions while managing all related formalities.
• Collaborate with the fuel procurement team to devise, oversee, and execute bunkering plans and strategies.
• Monitor trends in vessel and fleet performance, particularly regarding bunker consumption.
• Collaborate closely with ship's masters to identify and manage potential voyage risks.
• Engage directly with ship owners to ensure vessel performance and safety standards are met.
• Provide guidance and support to port operations for enhanced safety management.
• Facilitate and manage interactions with port and agency representatives.
• Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Manage and, if necessary, negotiate operational disputes with ship owners and receivers.
• Drive profitability optimization for each voyage in collaboration with the commercial team, with accountability for P&L and variance management.
• Utilize relevant performance tools to monitor, manage, and report fleet efficiency and performance.
• Cultivate transparent and professional relationships with suppliers.
• Actively participate in enhancing customer knowledge and relationships.
• Conduct post-voyage analysis and reviews to identify areas for improvement.
• Identify process gaps and propose/implement improvement actions.
• Support or lead value generation projects as required.
• Ensure adherence to established policies and uphold compliance with the companys standards and expectations.

• Diploma or Degree in Maritime or other related fields.
• Strong knowledge of charter-party and/or previous working experience in a similar position would be an added advantage.
• Good communication skills spoken and written English.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in IMOS would be an added advantage.
