The E&R division plays a crucial role in transforming Singapore into a globally leading sustainable energy & chemicals hub. The team spearheads Singapore’s industry development strategies across the energy value chain, including fuels, biofuels, renewables and oilfield equipment & services. We work with leading global companies to attract investments and develop capabilities in growth areas such as sustainable products, decarbonisation and new energies, including in areas that contribute to Singapore’s energy security and climate goals, while also supporting companies in their decarbonisation journeys through innovative solutions and technologies. . We work closely with industry partners, government agencies and other EDB teams to facilitate investments, shape policies and enhance Singapore’s competitiveness in the global energy and chemicals value chain.[What you will be working on]ResponsibilitiesYou will play a crucial role in the team to support and implement key activities and initiatives with identified corporate clients which may include some of the largest energy companies in the world. In the process, you will be working closely with company executives, external stakeholders (within and outside the Singapore government) and colleagues in EDB to ensure smooth delivery of project or partnership outcomes.This is largely an individual contributor role, but you may be given the opportunity to lead a project or initiative if you demonstrate the necessary experience or potential to do so. You will report to the Assistant Vice President, Energy and Resources.In this role, your responsibilities will include:Plan and execute account management activities for portfolio of companies in the end-to-end process of account development, project negotiation and execution and client servicingGain deep understanding of clients, their needs, operations and structure to implement and execute client engagement strategiesUndertake tasks and assignments to achieve client engagement and project negotiation and servicing outcomes; these can include company-level analysis, preparing relevant materials (e.g. proposals for partnership/ investment opportunities, talking points for meetings, addressing information requests, reporting needs), incentive processing, developing solutions, drafting contracts and project monitoringBuild sound understanding of regional/global industry and business trends, as well as Singapore’s value propositions in key thematic areas relevant to the business needs of companies to create project or partnership opportunities and value-add to client relationshipsCoordinate with Account Managers and other teams in EDB (e.g. other Account teams, Ventures, Policy & Planning, Finance and Legal) to ensure smooth execution of end-to-end account management processAdhere to EDB’s service principles to ensure good client experience with EDBMarket AnalysisUndertake market analysis market analysis of the energy and/or renewables sector including key trends such as decarbonisation and sustainability, selected energy companies, its suppliers and customers to augment EDB’s client engagement and industry development strategiesPre-empt common issues faced by clients or that may potentially impact them, and recommend and implement solutionsProvide input where relevant to appropriate teams in EDB and/or rest of Singapore government on policies or product/ service development (e.g. in incentive structuring, resource allocation, etc)[What we are looking for]RequirementsA bachelor’s degree in any discipline with relevant working experienceAt least 3 years of working experience, preferably in the energy, chemical or natural resources industry, and/or in sales, business development, managing key accounts and driving successful project and investment outcomes with similar client profileA strong interest and passion in global energy industry and/or international climate change developmentsAbility to conduct in-depth analysis of complex issues and put forth actionable solutionsKeen sense of business acumen and experience in project managementExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken; including ability and experience in engaging stakeholdersSelf-motivated and positive attitude, excellent work ethic and a team playerSingaporean
