- To work closely with the Dean, leaders and clinical academics within NUS and NUHS and its pain services to enhance and integrate research and education in the current clinical services.
- To develop and establish collaborative research proposal to obtain national and international research funding, to lead and establish a strong research team and state-of-the art research facilities.
- To conduct original research, leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international conferences
- To involve in coursework/clinical teaching including course planning, develop and implement innovative teaching methodologies to engage students and facilitate learning of undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing professional development students in a variety of disciplines.
- To provide leadership and mentorship to early and mid-career academic staff and growth of PhD candidate numbers.
- To maintain clinical expertise through active involvement in patient care and continuing education activities.
- To provide service to the university such as serving on standing and ad-hoc dental school committees, and outreach programmes.
- An earned doctoral degree in a relevant field such as dentistry, oral medicine, neuroscience, orofacial pain or related disciplines
- A strong track record of research evidenced by strong publications record and successful grant funding
- Prior teaching experience at the university level, with a commitment to excellence in education and student mentorship
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues, students and external stakeholders
- Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in education, research and clinical practice
- Willingness to contribute to the academic community through service activities and professional leadership roles
