What the role is:The Health Promotion Board (HPB) is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic professional to join the National Registry of Diseases Office. The jobholder will play a huge role in the collection and collation of relevant and accurate data for the formulation of health policies and planning health programmes in the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases in Singapore.Job Responsibilities:
  • Extract relevant and accurate data for the submission of reports to MOH for the formulating health policies and planning health programmes in the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases.
  • Ensure data compliance is performed with full compliance to guidelines and rules for disease coding/staging/reporting.
  • Proactively follow-up and re-extract relevant data at other hospitals before consolidating the relevant data to ensure completeness of case records.
  • Able to make informed judgement and decision to capture data in ambiguous or complex cases.
  • Ensure data collection is completed within the stipulated timelines for annual reports to MOH and data requests.
  • Manage minor operational issues to ensure smooth workflow, which includes resolving logistic issues for data collection at 'offsite' offices in the hospitals.
  • Monitor the submission of disease notifications and inform Team Lead if there are delays in the reporting of disease(s).
  • Maintain good relationship with staff of Healthcare Institutions / Clinics / Dialysis Centres to enable support to manage operational issues at 'offsite' workplace.
  • Front the team when working at respective worksite on logistic and workflow issues.
  • Inform Team lead and resolve operational issues independently
  • Oversee the safe storage of laptops and documents at the office and 'offsite' workplace.
  • Inform Team lead on any technical glitch in the database immediately and submit the 'Error Log' to the vendor and follow-up to ensure the problem is resolved at the earliest possible timeframe. Assist in the user test(s) for the resolutions on technical glitches as reported by team and work with the vendor to ensure that the system is functioning according to specification.
  • Identify areas for work improvement, propose measures to enhance smooth workflow.
  • Orientate new colleague to offsite workplace and introduce colleague to the staff of medical records office /hospitals (as applicable).
Job Requirements:
  • Certified nurse registered with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
  • Possess Advance Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • At least 5 years of nursing experience as a registered nurse.
  • Specialty nursing care such as renal/ stroke will be preferred.
  • Prior experience in data collection, data entry would be an advantage.
  • Good team player, able to work independently and collaborate with other colleagues, to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Possess good work ethics and must be reliable to complete work as assigned within stipulated time frame.
  • Open minded - willing to accept new ideas and ways to enhance productivity and flexible to adapt to changes.
  • Decisive and able to make good judgement.
  • Good negotiation and conflict management skills.
  • Keen to learn and upgrade knowledge and skills continuously.
