What the role is:The Smart District Division (SDD) is developing a suite of digital applications to connect users to the smart infrastructure in Punggol Digital District. This district aims to leverage technology and innovation to enhance convenience and improve the quality of life for its residents and businesses. We are looking for a highly motivated intern to help build frontend mobile and web-based applications that are centred on users' needs. You will work closely with a dynamic team of backend engineers, designers and product managers to develop apps that users will love. In the process, the frontend products that you develop will help shape the future of Singapore's first smart business district. The intern will be expected to: - Architect and implement front-end systems that are closely aligned to end users' needs - Develop modular and highly reusable UI components - Work closely with cross functional partners in design, product and engineering to bring new features from design to production. - Optimise code to improve the scalability, reliability and performance of mobile and web applications - Participate actively in design and code reviews, as well as in stand-up meetings - Grow with the support of your team and help others on the team grow by providing thoughtful feedback and encouraging those around you.What you will be working on:'- Architect and implement front-end systems that are closely aligned to end users' needs - develop modular and highly reusable UI components using frontend frameworks such as flutter and react native -Support the design and development of microservices architecture for scalable and modular applications. -Integrate and work with communication protocols like REST APIs and/or messaging (i.e. MQTT, AMQP) to enable communication between services. - work closely with cross functional partners in design, product and engineering to bring new features from design to production. - Optimise code to improve the scalability, reliability and performance of mobile and web applications -Conduct thorough testing of software components to ensure quality and reliability. - Participate actively in design and code reviews, as well as in stand-up meetings - Grow with the Support of your team and help others on the team Grow by providing thoughtful feedback and encouraging those around you.What we are looking for:Minimum Requirements - Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program and in the process of obtaining a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field - Previous related experience in software engineering (applicable coursework, projects, internships, etc.) - Proficiency in one or more of the following: Java, JavaScript, React, Dart - Familiarity with HTML and CSS - Working knowledge in APIs, MQTT, cloud services, databases and microservices - Passion for building great mobile or web applications that will improve users' lives - Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good-to-Haves - Strong grasp of UI/UX design principles - Experience with designing user interfaces - Familiarity with design software such as Figma and Adobe XD - Familiarity with concepts like functional and asynchronous programming, closures and types, layouts and animationsAbout JTC Corporation:Master planner.
