Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible.Position Summary:As a Staff Systems Integration Engineer/Scientist at Illumina you will work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and help create and test genomic analysis tools used in the leading edge of scientific and clinical research. You will participate in the development of high quality, robust products through the integration of hardware, software and chemistry components. You will also lead the design and execution of test plans to optimize systems/product performance. A major part of the role will be to work with manufacturing to ensure that our products are fully tested and diagnose any issues through troubleshooting experiments and root cause analysis.Responsibilities:Represent Systems Integration function on project teams. Act as subject matter expert on systems in early development including breadboards and prototypes.Lead a technical area independently to accomplish significant technical advances related to project goals.Work on complex problems and suggest creative solutions to system-level issues.Apply system knowledge to develop V&V strategies, responsible for proper completion of V&V studies and accountable for appropriate and rigorously documented system configuration.Contribute to setting specifications for system performance for robust and reproducible performance.Management of large data sets for programs.May supervise one or more junior members on project activities and responsible for coaching team member on performance. Collaborate with functional managers to deliver performance-related feedback.May have direct reports and responsible for mentor direct reports for performance & growth opportunities.Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.Requirements:8-12 years of experience in successful, product development environment required.
