  • Identify and underwrite profitable accounts within underwriting limits under direction and guidance from the PCM and Country GM.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with brokers under PCM direction.
  • Manage assigned accounts, ensuring efficient document workflow in line with operational procedures.
  • Technical Underwriting - underwrite business within underwriting authority through a rigorous risk assessment process which includes consideration of loss control, claims history and all other appropriate risk management factors.
  • Ensure adherence with all underwriting guidelines and referrals.
  • Provide accurate reports as required.
  • Business Development and Retention - keep abreast of market changes and trends.
  • Lead strategic initiatives designed to achieve efficiency in processes and create a target operating model that optimizes the resources and revenue generation.
  • Proactively engage with various internal stakeholders for technical or marketing support for business development initiatives.
  • Seek opportunities to improve synergies and participate in cross-sell initiatives within the Profit Centre and with other Profit Centres.
  • Develop and maintain strong personal and professional relationships with clients and brokers.
  • Business Operations - adhere to internal SLA’s to ensure operational efficiency and achievement of agreed customer service standards.
  • Continuously work to reduce the expense ratio through constant attention to efficiencies and opportunities to maximize productivity through streamlining of processes.
  • Audit and Compliance - ensure adherence to audit, regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Any other duties/ assignments given by PCM.
What we’re looking for:
  • Graduate level degree in business, economics, insurance or marketing.
  • Insurance qualification FAIS compliant.
  • Minimum 6 - 10 years’ experience in the business.
  • Industry attachments will be considered favorably.
  • Insurance industry knowledge, regulations & codes.
  • Skillset: Marketing Relationship, building Strategic Planning, Accountability, Budgeting, Business Acumen, Business Development, Competitive Analysis, Conducting Presentations, Decision making, Distribution Management.
