SummaryThe main objectives of the position is to ensure fabric & material quality used in the production of our textile products can meet our required standards and quality. Through the monitoring of these orders against agreed TnA milstones.What you'll do
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams within product category
  • Direct communication with garment vendors, fabric mills and material mills for textile related topics.
  • Request and arrange for fabric or material testing when required and to ensure correct and complete information is filled on lab testing requests.
  • To sign off test reports into our data management system, and communicate with vendors on failures and provide technical guidance for improvements.
  • Assessment and approval of first bulk fabric/material compared to approved development quality/standard regarding color / appearance and handfeel.
  • When required approve acceptable shade bands for batch colour continuity.
  • Communicate with vendors on any potential risks and provide technical support or direction for knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, finishing and chemical compliance when required.
  • Provide risk assessment on any potential failures on fabric to QA/merchandisng/production team
  • Evaluate Fabric Specifications and signed off into our data system
  • Check TnA milestones for fabric production and daily monitor and update the fabric status into our data system
  • Weekly order progress meeting with Production/QA/merchandising on action on any potential delay related to fabric issues
  • Mill visits when required to support fabric/material quality issues within South Asia & China.
What you'll need
  • Understanding of fabric compositions and construction for both knitted & woven materials.
  • Knowledge in the dyeing, finishing and chemical finishing processes of fabric and materials.
  • Strong Technical expertise in a variety of garment types primary Lingerie & Underwear.
  • Experience in the evaluation of lab dips and dyed material for colour assessment.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of work experience with relevant experiences as a fabric knitting/weaving technician being an advantage in field of textile or related discipline.
  • Fluency in English Local language required plus Cantonese and Mandarin is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills with fabric mills, vendors, QA, merchandisers in trouble shooting for fabric technical issues
