Job Description:Position Description:The Project Manager will report to the Senior Manager, Core Platform Delivery within the IT Department. The role is critical to the effective delivery across regions and is a key leadership role in the Singapore office.Their work will be focussed on delivering one (or more) projects and ongoing change to JERAGMs Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) Applications i.e. Allegro, ZEMA, IMOS, Credit, Finance etc. and associated interfaces as well as bespoke solutions.They will work with the users and IT teams to determine the demand for change across this system landscape and then be responsible for the execution and delivery of the identified portfolio of work. This work will cover new projects, ongoing change to the existing systems and maintenance (such as major upgrades to vendor systems).They will be part of a global team and will work with users in London and Singapore. They must be comfortable and adapt their style as needed to manage different types of IT delivery team including:
  • Small agile teams g. light-touch Project Management or facilitation of semi-autonomous Agile teams made up of JERAGM staff including BAs, Developers & QAs
  • Large IT/vendor teams g. Project Management of hybrid JERAGM / Allegro teams following a controlled process to plan, build, test and release large changes
The specific responsibilities will include:
  • Developing the project management function:
  • The project management function at JERAGM is currently managed by consultants and a core part of the role will be to build it into a mature in-house function.
  • Managing prioritisation:
  • Work with Head of IT and Enterprise Business Architect to establish an effective prioritisation mechanism with the business teams across various types of change.
  • Ensure clear definition, agreement, and management of project scope with business and other IT stakeholders.
  • Maintain an understanding of the implications of changing business needs on the IT roadmap.
  • Delivering Projects:
  • Own the portfolio of active projects and small change with responsibility for aligning this portfolio of work to agreed business and IT expectations.
  • Lead project mobilisation including developing the resourcing strategy for delivering various types of change and working with the Head of IT to engage vendors.
  • Ensure projects and ongoing change are delivered on time, within budget and meet the expectations of the project sponsor(s).
  • Perform day-to-day management of Project Teams working closely with their Line Managers including the Enterprise Business Architect (BAs), Solution Architect (Developers) and Release & QA Manager (QA).
  • Use JERAGM IT processes and tools including Teams, Confluence & JIRA.
  • Work closely with the Release & QA Manager to plan a roadmap of releases taking into account interdependencies between changes and the need to go through a common SIT, regression testing and release cycle for all Allegro changes.
  • Ensure project risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies are logged taking input from users and IT stakeholders.
  • Status reporting:
  • Provide regular project updates to business stakeholders and other relevant IT stakeholders.
  • Drive and deliver the implementation of quality data to support the production of key project metrics across project milestones, effort, requirements scope change and resource utilisation.
The Project Manager will be required to be proactive in engaging with users and to work with them in a collaborative and open manner. They must be able to communicate and present effectively and be comfortable running meetings to get consensus across large groups, dealing effectively if they encounter conflicting views. They will be required to be a self-starter and effective at working independently while leading their project teams to collaborate effectively and building a positive team culture.Qualifications:Experience Required:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Minimum 10 years experience as a Project Manager in ETRM IT within a trading house, investment bank, or through a tier-1 vendor/consultancy
  • Good understanding of the trade lifecycle for financial and physical commodities (including gas, coal, LNG or physical oil)
  • Experience as a Project Manager on an ETRM implementation or in delivering 3rd line support / small change e.g. Allegro, Endur, Aspect
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and across multiple region

JERAGM aims to become independent from EDFT IT and has an ongoing IT Change Programme to implement Allegro for Coal and Freight, to build out in-house FO tools as well as supporting growth and change of the LNG business.
