What better way to experience Marriott International, Inc. than actually being part of us?DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIESThe intern will work for Marriott’s Design Development Operations team.Key responsibilities include:
- Conducts online research in F&B trends, culinary, beverage, restaurant and bar concepts, architecture and interior design
- Conceptual design - Prepares presentations, concept decks and other related visual aids, such as mood boards
- Develops, writes and/or supports the writing of the F&B concepts for new hotels and F&B areas
- Supplies creative input on hotel projects and divisional initiatives
- Assist with designing, drafting and sketching blueprints related to F&B operations
- Assist with reviewing layouts, floorplans and workflows, front and back-of-house
- Assist in reviewing furniture/FF&E prototypes
- Attends design coordination meetings as requested
- Communicates and coordinate with different internal departments
- Liaises and follow-up with GDAP Project Directors as requested, to ensure positive and timely outcome of projects
- Assists in preparing photo reports, executive summaries and property improvement plans (PIP) for hotels inspected
- Handles any administrative tasks, ad-hoc assignments and miscellaneous projects as requested
- Maintains strong, professional relationship with the relevant representatives from competitor hotels, business partners and other organizations
- Responds to changes in the Food and Beverage function as dictated by the industry, company and hotels
- Attends training sessions and meetings as and when required
- Able to travel and attend business trips outside of Hong Kong if required
- Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Ability to learn quickly and excel in a fast-paced environment
- Detailed-oriented, structured, and organized
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially MS PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of drawing software, such as Google Sketchup or similar
- Excellent Analytical and Numeracy Skills
- Previously conducted internship in hospitality (Preferably F&B)
- Keen interest in food and beverage
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and floorplans
