Job Description:Purpose of the RoleThe Senior Compensation Consultant, APAC provides compensation consultancy and advice to the General Insurance and Life businesses across countries in APAC. The role is responsbile for planning, developing and implementing new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures to align with the Total Rewards priciples, company's goals and competitive practices. This position is also responsible for ensuring that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and market government regulations.Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Manages all exisiting programs and the development, implementation and administration of updated or new compensation programs.
  • Coordinates annual compensation exercises including bonus program, bonus and equity pool review and stakeholder and employee communication.
  • Collaborates with HR data / reporting team to review off-cycle salary and promotions.
  • Provides advice and assists HRBP to review and propose the compensation proposals for hires where needed
  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
  • Supports country HR team in preparing and updating remuneration policies in line with the relevant local regulations, and ensures compliance with the remuneration policy.
  • Provides advice to corporate staff on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
  • Keeps up to date for C&B market development in APAC countries.
  • Provides compensation input for special projects including M&A, restructuring in accordance with business needs
  • Any compensation related projects or tasks as appropriate
Qualifications:Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related field with a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible in employee compensation;
  • Experience working in a global matrixed organization; with life insurance experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations;
  • Ability to work collaboratively, build effective work relationships at all levels of the organization, influence behavior, and manage change;
  • High degree of integrity and honesty; ability to exercise confidentiality and neutrality in complex and sensitive situations;
  • Communicates well both verbally and in writing with team members of all levels across the organization; maintains a level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information; freely shares ideas with others; actively listens to ensure clear understanding and translates direction into action;
  • Maintains a keen eye for detail; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness;
  • Challenges ideas and processes in a constructive manner;
  • Identifies and elevates issues and puts forward solutions in a timely manner;
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure without compromising quality or service - successful experience managing demanding deadlines, changing requirements, and working with limited resources and information.
