We are seeking an Underwriter to join our APAC Casualty team in our Singapore office.
Position Overview: As a Casualty Underwriter in Asia Pacific, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and
underwriting complex and multinational casualty risks for the region. This position involves assessing the
potential risks associated with liability exposures, ensuring that policies are priced appropriately, and
maintaining a profitable portfolio contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Focus on new business production and renewal retention in a growing profitable GL portfolio.
- Underwrites all accounts in accordance with underwriting guidelines and individual authority
- Make strategic underwriting decisions on intricate accounts, considering market conditions and
- Monitor the performance of existing policies, identifying areas for improvement and
- Provide input and feedback at the weekly underwriting meetings.
- Monitors all industry and specific account trends. Implements a field service reputation that is
- Interact with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information, explain
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to enhance business retention and new
Desired Skills & Experience:The candidate needs to have:
- Relevant experience in casualty underwriting, with a focus on complex and multiantional risks in
- Power BI/PPL experience beneficial but not essential
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Economics background preferred but not essential
- Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work effectively in an at times a pressured environment
- Appetite and hunger to learn and grow and 'go the extra mile'.
- Eye for detail
- Ability to organize efficiently
- Competent in all Microsoft packages
