Job DescriptionABOUT THE ROLEInvestment
  • Contribute to team investment process and contribute to team management of assets
  • Lead meetings with management of companies
  • Attend all regular team meetings to discuss and present investment ideas
  • Provide updates on company meetings and results at team meetings
  • Represent abrdn in client meetings
  • Portfolio Administration
Research
  • Undertake security and sector analysis and complete stock notes
  • Keep up-to-date on sector, country and market developments and trends
  • Country trips and produce investment trip reports
  • To perform analysis of company results and provide results commentaries of portfolio holdings
  • To undertake a wide variety of index research – rules, performance, construction and index reviews / changes
  • Risk Management
  • To maintain up-to-date knowledge of compliance and dealing procedures
  • To comply with all regulatory, legal, corporate and client mandates
  • Training and Development
  • To build and maintain knowledge of abrdn investment process, products and allocated market/sector responsibilities
  • To build and maintain knowledge of abrdn systems, including Charles River, Bloomberg databases
  • To participate and attend Continual Professional development opportunities in order to maintain knowledge and skills
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • A good Bachelor’s degree or Post-graduate degree majoring in Business, Economics or Finance
  • CFA qualified (or working towards)
  • 6 -10 years of relevance experience in the sell or buy side, ideally with prior Research experience in Technology and/or Indian capability
  • Possess Fund Manager License would be an added advantage
  • Strong academic performance combined with extracurricular interests and achievements.
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player with ability to manage own workload
  • Good influencing skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Ability to converse fluently in a second Asian language being a plus
